The government of Zanzibar has called on various stakeholders to collaborate with the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children in identifying the elderly, children and groups with special needs especially in empowering and creating a friendly environment for them as one of the ways of showing concern.
The call was made yesterday by the Minister of Community Development, Gender, the Elderly and Children Zanzibar Riziki Juma, during the occasion of bringing the elderly together for a meal together in celebrating the second Eid holiday, organized by the Asma Mwinyi Foundation (AMF) in Zanzibar Urban District.
Minister Riziki said that interims of conditions and resources, the ministry of community development, gender and children is taking care of the welfare of al Zanzibar communities emphasizing stakeholders to join with the government in efforts to help the elderly, children, and groups with special needs.
“Let us also pray with other stakeholders because giving is a heart and not wealth. When you give, God adds more to you, see, care and appreciate the efforts of our elders, and be encouraged in giving for the sake of elderly, children and other groups with special needs” he said and added.
