Construction of six (6) toilets for handicapped pupils at Vikindu Primary School
The major challenge at Vikindu Primary School is the lack of lavatories for handicapped pupils. The AMF is seeking to address this challenge by constructing six toilets for these pupils.
The AMF believes that providing accessible sanitation facilities is not only critical to saving lives, but also in creating a good education and learning environment.
Vikindu Primary School constitutes of sixty-five (65) disabled children of which two (2) girls are albinos, one (1) girl, and one (1) boy are blind, one (1) girl and three (3) boys are physically disabled, thirty-seven (37) girls and twenty-two (22) boys are mentally disabled.
Improving access to sanitation is a critical step towards reducing the impact of many diseases associated with lack of sanitation which in turn helps create an environment that enhances safety, dignity, and self-esteem.
