Asma Mwinyi Foundation
The Asma Mwinyi Foundation (“AMF”) is a Tanzania-based non-profit charitable organization established in October 2019 with registration No. ooNGO/R/0713 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act of 2002. It is headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and mandated to operate in all regions of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The formation of this organization is intended to helping others and with a strong belief in uplifting the living standard of communities, primarily focusing on education, health, and social programs that we consider are the backbone of community development. AMF is strongly rooted in promoting programs that enhance community development in both rural and urban settings, dealing specifically with girls’ and women’s real needs of education, health, social issues, and other basic needs in their community.
As with many developing countries, a significant number of girls in Tanzania grow up in highly impoverished communities, where they face significant challenges that include limited access to education, physical violence and sexual abuse, child labor, female genital mutilation, unplanned pregnancies, risks of complications associated with abortions and early age marriages, and food insecurity. The Foundation endeavors to address these challenging issues by addressing the basic needs for food, clothing, clean water, education, health, social issues, and spiritual care.
We are here to improve the lives of Tanzanian girls and women through the power of philanthropy by addressing the issues and challenges they face and thereby create a path for a stronger community in
Tanzania.
